From a youth hostel to two businesses
I grew up in Seine-et-Marne and came to London in 2009, aged 25, to improve my English. Three months later I was working in a youth hostel; soon I was running four of them.
Then I set up my first business: pub crawls. I negotiated prices with pubs and got my customers into London clubs for a tenner. That is where I learnt to build websites and to run a business — including the hard way, when a former employee set up in competition.
Lesson learnt, I started something new: a classifieds forum for French people in London. It became Français à Londres.
Français à Londres: my own media, on Ghost
When Covid closed many traditional publications, I turned the forum into a weekly media for French speakers in the UK: news seen from a British angle, classifieds, a directory of French-speaking professionals, events and guided tours.
Today it is a community of more than 45,000 members, with a newsletter every Friday — all run on Ghost. Everything I recommend to clients, I use every week on a live media.
Abstract27: what I do for you
